A winter wedding is undeniable romantic, but planning a wedding when the weather is cold can make having a gorgeous glow more challenging. Luckily with the right preparation and tools to layer getting your winter glow is totally possible.
Three Months Before The Big Day
Starting off with gorgeous skin is the most important step in nailing your beauty look for a winter wedding. Make sure at least three months before the wedding you start to ensure you skin is hydrated. I would suggest incorporating a moisturising serum, like Resultime Intensive Hydrating Serum or Arbonne RE9 Intensive Renewal Serum to your daily routine. I also recommend using a night cream that has extra enriching ingredients like RE9 Advanced Night Repair Cream.
Finally, at least once a week apply an emollient moisture mask like Caudalie's Moisturising Mask. You can also use this the night before your wedding to give your face a little extra love.
The Wedding Day
After cleaning and moisturising your skin, apply an illuminating primer. This will minimise your need for foundation and will be able to keep the skin looking fresh. A great product that really gets the job done is Cover FX Illuminating Primer or my all-time favourite primer Arbonne Makeup Primer - this will guarantee gorgeously glowing dewy skin that doesn't wrinkle - plus it will ensure you makeup stays on all day.
After the primer, apply your foundation of choice. The trick here is, only apply it where you need it. If the combination of your natural skin and the primer allows for areas to stay clear of foundation, the overall look will have a transparency that will add to the glow. Choose a formula that isn't matte. Let the skin have some dew. You can always control shine with powder. Also choose a foundation without an SPF as you will end up looking like a ghost in your wedding photos. If you absolutely need to wear and SPF put on a moisturiser that contains one. Or if you love your SPF foundation check in flash photos that it doesn't turn you white.
Now is the fun part: applying the added bounce of radiance. Using a liquid to achieve a flawless customised finish, likeCover FX Custom Enhancer Drops. You only need a couple of drops (a little goes a long way) which will add a slight sheen to the top of the cheek bones, down the bridge and tip of the nose, and the top of the Cupid's bow of the lips. Lastly, add a touch to the brow bones. To finish off the glow add a very small amount of delicately shimmering powder to the cheek bones and temples. This gives the light the perfect surface to bounce off. Ofra Highlighter, Everglow is one of my favourites.
Any creative beauty direction you take from here will be framed with a wonderful glowing complexion on your big day.
