Skin Health is one of my absolute passions. I absolutely believe that everyone should have gorgeous glowing skin, and if it isn't that means something is imbalanced on the inside.
Many people of all ages struggle with skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, dry skin, wrinkles, and sun damage, among others. This can be very upsetting for those who have yet to find a solution to their problematic skin. While conventional medical professionals often discount the connection between skin health and nutrition, there is strong evidence to support the influence of our food choices on the health and vibrancy of our skin. I believe that skin health is 80% food and 20% cosmetics.
Our skin is the body’s largest organ, and like a mirror, it reflects the health of your body. Poor skin and hair health can be a sign of an internal dysfunction. From hormonal imbalance, digestive disease and immune deficiency, to external factors like stress and lifestyle. As a Registered Nutritional Therapist and Botanical Skin Care Consultant, I use a multi-faceted approach of Nutrition, Lifestyle and Product advice to support people on the path to glowing, healthy skin.
Beauty Is Not Skin Deep
The synthesis of healthy new skin cells requires certain nutrients and the integrity of your skin can therefore be heavily reliant on diet. In addition to this, the skin relies on the functioning of many systems, and can often be an outward manifestation of how well your body is functioning internally.
Imbalances with hormones, immunity, digestion and inflammation can contribute to skin problem such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea or sensitive skin. For such cases, the objective is always to work to the heart of the problem so that the protocol can be targeted to the individual’s specific requirements.
