Cover FX are doing so many amazing things at the moment and this is one of them! Check out Cover FX Shimmer Veil which is a gorgeous, easy to use sparkle cream that can be used on the eyes and lips and more.
Cover FX is one of my favourite cruelty free brands and a few weeks ago they added to their collection and launched their new Shimmer Veil range! Available in 6 sparkly shades, these creme colours can be used anywhere on the face and are supposed to be crease-proof.
Cover FX Shimmer Veil Shades come in 6 beautiful colours:
I wasn't sure what I was expecting - I've tried many of these kinds of products in the past and am usually disappointed, but the finish is gorgeous, glittery, and has a metallic sheen! The product is highly pigmented as well.
On the eyes, I've been wearing them on bare skin or over eye shadow to add a sparkly finish. On the lips, I find that they work best on top of a matte lipstick (otherwise the glitter tend to disappear in the lipstick). I've been loving wearing Moonstone over my fave Charlotte Tilbury lipstick: Stoned Rose. I've only tried these products on my eyes and lips though, as I'm personally not a fan of glitters on my cheeks, but if you've tried it comment below and let me know your thoughts.
The cream formula dries fast on the skin, and once it sets it doesn't budge or crease into fine lines - which is great if you are a little older (like me). A word of warning though: If you are heavy handed and apply too much, it can look patchy and flake off as the day goes by. And it's easy to apply too much because the Shimmer Veils are very pigmented, so remember that a little bit goes a long way. I have found that I get the best results if I apply a thin layer and blend with my fingertips. So to sum up, the formula is a bit fussy to work with, but I honestly I love them. My 2 favourites right now are Moonstone which is a medium coppery plum with a glittering metallic finish and Magic which is a rosy champagne beige - which i know I'm going to be using on my brides this summer.
These are definitely going to be staying in my makeup kit and I am looking forward to trying some of the other shades too.
Have you tried Shimmer Veil and what are your thoughts? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
