How To: Fool Proof Eyeliner

I find a lot of my clients struggle with eyeliner application ... So I thought I'd write a blog about making eyeliner foolproof.
I liken eyeliner application to riding a bike – once you’ve cracked it, it’s a skill for life!

Practice makes perfect when it comes to applying eyeliner the correct way – nobody would expect you to ride a bike from the first moment you sat on it and the same goes for applying eyeliner;  there is skill involved.

If we didn’t have help from our parents when we were very little, it would be unlikely that we would master the skill of cycling very quickly and most importantly with joy. The same is true of applying eyeliner. Defining the eyes is the most empowering thing a woman can achieve for her eyes.  There are three key points we need to understand about eyeliner:

Application
A lot of my clients are women in their 40s and 50s and struggle with eyeliner application, it’s something I see time and time again. Learning where to apply the liner is key, once you have been shown this, you will be amazed at the difference it makes to your whole look.

Technique

The majority of women have never had the time or proper training to show them how to holdthe product in the correct way to get the best results and to make sure it is applied equally to both the left and right eyes.

Texture

So which products do you choose? The choices are vast and very confusing…
will it be liquid, felt tip, gel, waterproof gel pencil or a normal kohl pencil?
Together, we will find the perfect one for you.

I can guarantee that after one make up lesson with me, we will find the perfect product to enhance your eyes. You will be brimming with newfound confidence in applying eyeliner and will know what suits you best.  You will learn the best techniques for creating beautifully defined eyes.

My 3 favourite eyeliners at the moment are:

BUXOM
Insider Eyeliner
Use this eyeliner for application “in-between” lashes to define and lift eyes.

ZOEVA
Graphic Eyes - After The Disco
This is the perfect soft, golden brown colour suits almost every eye colour.  I use this colour to define the lower lash line and also to create a quick frame all around the eyes for soft, elegant definition.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY
The Feline Flick 'Panther'
Anyone can create the perfect feline flick with this fabulous eyeliner from Charlotte Tilbury.

I LOVE this product!!
