My Friday review of It's A Long Story Mascara. If I was only allowed to use one makeup product for the rest of my life I would, without a doubt, choose mascara. Although I'm comfortable with wearing no makeup - I rarely leave the house without a slick of mascara on my lashes. I love the fact that this little tube and wand have the ability to lengthen, voluminize and accentuate your gaze. Add drama to your eyes and help it tell its story. When I look for a mascara, I like a formula that will enhance the look of my lashes without looking particularly fake. “It’s a long story” mascara delivered. The soft, flexible brush glides effortlessly through lashes to separate them and cover them from root to tip with product. Plus it’s the perfect size to grab each and every lash. The biggest selling point for me is that it’s vegan (yay!) - made from natural, botanical bamboo and pea extracts so this is proof that you CAN have effective beauty products without the cruelty. All good things when it comes to a mascara. But how did it perform? The applicator is narrow, flexible and long so it’s ideal for reaching the little lashes in the corners of your eyes. It’s also less ‘bushy’ than other brands, meaning it applies to the full length of the lash without getting mascara on the upper lids which I've found to be a downfall of the larger oval shaped heads. The ultimate mascara test for me is whether it lasts throughout the day and I am happy to report that it does. The good news is that there wasn't a panda eye in sight, thanks to its in built water resistance. It lasted during many a downpour i.e. typical British weather so all UK ladies should be lining up for this. The smell is very natural and inoffensive- another plus point for me was I personally dislike products with an overbearing smell. And if you care about the appearance of your mascara packaging, this one comes in a sleek black and silver container so will appeal to anyone like me who loves a bit of monochrome in their life. The lasting power is also truly amazing. My lash curl lasts all day with no drooping and there is certainly no flaking or dropping of product underneath my eyes, and for me that is a rare thing. I have tried many a mascara in my time and have always had a problem with my bottom lashes. Every one I used seemed to flake off the bottoms or rub down making my already dark eye circles even darker. It doesn’t clump up either. In fact, I have applied it on a morning then added another coat at night before going out to give it a darker look. It just adds another layer to deepen the colour rather than looking like spiders legs so there is no need to take your make-up off and start all over again. So next we come to the removal of this mascara. It's so easy to get off so there is no irritating the eyes due to scrubbing stupidly hard. It also doesn't create huge panda eyes when you are washing it off, I think I'm literally in love. I can’t fault this mascara. It ticks all the boxes for me and I have certainly found a new staple for my makeup bag. Vanity Fair also rate this as one of their top 5 mascara's. What is your favourite mascara. or have you ever used this mascara - What are your thoughts? Emma x This pic is with just one coat of It's a Long Story Mascara. For a more dramatic look just add a 2nd coat.
