Taking care of one of the largest detoxification organs on our bodies, our skin, is just as important as the care we show the delicate skin on our face. Overall my philosophy about make-up and what we put on our bodies is parellel to my food philosophy, the simpler and more natural the better. www.cultbeauty.co.uk/aesop-redemption-body-scrub.htmlFor me, it’s not just what I put on my skin, but purposeful techniques I do to my skin that all of you can incorporate as well to keep the integrity of your skin tight, toned, healthy, and radiant.
I’ve talked at length about the importance of using the right kinds of products on your skin, but for a little recap, remember that the most important factor of how our skin, hair and nails look on the outside, is how we’re treating our bodies on the inside. This is affected by how nourishing our foods are, how we manage stress, how we move our bodies, and other lifestyle factors- these combined with natural skin care play a huge role in my beauty regimen. Skin is one of our largest detoxification organs and if we’re constantly bombarding our skin and bloodstream with questionable ingredients like parabens, chemicals like BHA and formaldehyde amongst a long list of others, then we’re not allowing it to “breathe”, stay healthy, regenerate, and glow naturally. My goal is to share with you that you don’t need pricey chemical-laden serums, moisturizers, and the like to look your best on the outside! Nourishing your body from the inside out is the foundation, what we put on is the icing on the cake! 1. Dry Brush I LOVE dry brushing. Dry brushing is by far my favourite part in my skincare routine because it’s yielded the most results long term! It only takes about 2 minutes but the benefits are incredible! I, like so many of us women have/had cellulite on the back of my thighs, which was incredibly irritating, but when I started dry brushing I noticed improvements in my skin tone and overtime less cellulite. Dry brushing also helps the integrity of our skin from the inside as well, it’s gentle enough to move our lymph and stimulate our circulation to bring oxygen to our skin, our muscles, collagen, and gently massages our connective tissue to keep our skin looking tight and toned. I promise it only takes a couple minutes and hope you find it as relaxing as the rest of your routines, here’s how:
My faves: Mio Skincare – Natural Dry Body Brush | Purest Palm Brush 2.Exfoliate Exfoliation is incredibly important, I recommend starting with an exfoliation treatment once a week gradually building up to 2-3 times. Our skin is sensitive by nature and it’s important that we don’t overdue the exfoliation especially if you’re not used to it. I always recommend starting from your feet and working your way up the body, similarly with the dry brushing, to move your lymph in that direction. Also I typically use circular motions when using an exfoliation treatment. My faves: Rescue & Renew Detox Scrub | Redemption Body Scrub 3.Cleanse I like to keep all of my skincare incredibly simple, so I opt for cleansers that are gentle yet effective. This step can also include soaking in the tub with sea salts, which I LOVE doing and highly suggest you give it a try if you haven’t already ! My faves: | Rescue & Renew Detox Sea Soak | Joie Bath Infusion 4.Rinse We all know rinsing is important, but I recommend taking showers/baths with warm/hot water versus scolding hot. My rinse routine is to run the water fairly warm, then right as I’m finishing up rinse with cold water. I know, sounds crazy but it works and helps to give your lymph another boost and is just like a natural jolt of energy. Added bonus, my hairdresser told me to rinse your hair with ice cold water just before hopping out of the shower to close the cuticles and keep them shiny. WIN WIN. 5.Moisturize Okay I lied, this might actually be one of my favourite steps! If you’re skipping out on moisturizing your skin, you’re missing out on so much! Moisturizing with the right natural beauty products can leave your skin protected, feeling soft, healthy, radiant, and looking amazing. My faves: Ren Neroli and Grapefruit Body Cream | Rescue & Renew Detox Body Lotion DON’T FORGET ABOUT YOUR FEET AND HANDS! I hope this was helpful to you all and you enjoy some of these truly amazing products that I’ve discovered- I’m so grateful for all these amazing companies bringing health and beauty together!
