There’s something magical about the autumn air that makes it such a fantastic time for a wedding. Sure, summer may be over but the air is crisp, the leaves are changing and the color palette is full of rich purples, dark greens and burnt oranges. However, It is important to keep in mind that when the seasons change, our bodies do too. Below are some tips to ensure you look and feel your best on your wedding day despite the change in climate.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
The air is getting colder which puts your skin at risk. Cold, dry air can cause cracks and in extreme cases even bleeding. You want your skin to be flawless on your wedding day so be sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. If you need some extra motivation, invest in a fun bottle to ensure you reach your goal each day.

Take Allergy Medication
If you’re an allergy sufferer, you’re well aware that autumn’s biggest allergen is ragweed. The last thing you want is swollen eyes and a runny nose in your wedding photos. Begin taking allergy medication in advance to ward off any symptoms that may onset once the pollen starts flying.

Maintain Your Mane
As autumn approaches the air tends to dry out which can do a number on your hair. Show your locks some love with a weekly oil mask or a multivitamin to promote healthy growth. Grooms can get in on this as well. There are hair gummies designed specifically for men that contain a number of vitamins to keep their hair strong and healthy while also keeping follicles stimulated.  You can try other tricks such as massaging your scalp with essential oils and shampooing with cool water to aide in promoting hair growth as well.

Join a Gym
With the temperature dropping, you may find it harder to get outside and be active. Joining a gym allows you to get that heart rate flowing and release endorphins while indoors. Many gyms offer classes so if running on the treadmill isn’t your cup of tea, drop into a HIIT class or roll out your yoga mat and get your zen on without freezing your tail off!

Sleep
Getting enough sleep is key to feeling like your best self. Once autumn hits the amount of  daylight decreases, causing the day to feel shorter. Take advantage of this and get to bed early.  Sleep deprivation causes irritability, depression and forgetfulness, just to name a few.

While choosing an autumn wedding date is a decision you will not regret, keep in mind that nothing is as important as looking and feeling like your best self, especially on your wedding day. Maintaining a wellness routine for your big day is as crucial as any other detail. By following these tips you can help to ensure your wedding is truly the best day ever.
