One of the things I love most about being makeup artist and blogger is finding new products and brands. I am a true beauty fan and I struggle to walk into a salon or department store without having to browse for half an hour and buy something new (as you can imagine, it drives my husband mad). Delilah isn't a new brand, it has been around since 2014, but I haven't tried it up until now. I was at a makeup workshop the other day and this is one of the foundations used - it looked amazing and so I had to try it for myself. For those of you who haven't come across Delilah before, they are a British brand, a collaborative creation of three friends who wanted to fill the gap for a boutique British brand in the beauty market. I was already drawn in by the very chic packaging and the sophisticated look of all the products. I've tried out a few products from the range, so read on to read what I think! The official blurb: Paraben Free and Dermatologically Tested. Time Frame is a fluid foundation that blends perfectly with the skin, leaving an effortlessly flawless finish. The light, buildable coverage has a subtle luminosity and a velvety texture. Vitamin E works as a powerful antioxidant to prevent against environmental damage while a blend of peptides helps to prevent signs of ageing. Time Frame contains a broad spectrum SPF 20 for everyday protection. First of, all of the products come in a dusty, pink, cardboard packaging that I really like. The foundation comes in a tube packaging. I really love the packaging which is very sleek, plus it has a pump at the top which makes dispensing very easy. The tube contains 38 ml./1.28 oz which is actually more then what you get in an average foundation. What I was quite disappointed with is the shade range, as there are very few shades. There are 8 shades in total and as far as I can tell from experience, and looking at the shades online, you have to get very lucky to find your exact match. I was lucky as Shell is perfect for me. But for my makeup kit I'll be needing to invest in a lighter and dark shade and mix to get my clients perfect shades (to be honest this is what I tend to do anyways - so not a deal breaker for me). I love that there’s no scent that I can detect and was super easy to blend. I have been using between 1 and 2 full pumps, depending on the coverage I'm after. It applies beautifully with both a brush as well as a damp sponge. The finish is dewy, and the coverage is very light, almost more like a BB/CC cream, which is why I sometimes use a 2nd pump to create a fuller coverage. I consider it be light – light/medium coverage foundation. But what makes this foundation really quite special is the finish. It is exceptionally flattering and and natural looking – imagine the texture and protection of a tinted moisturiser combined with the coverage of foundation and that’s basically what we’re dealing with. It gives wonderful freshness and glow (entirely without sparkle), and has an ever so slightly dewy finish that makes it especially lovely on mature skins (I recently used on one of my 'mother's of the bride' and she declares it the best foundation she’s ever used). Its creamy (rather than sparkly) finish makes it ideal for uneven skin surfaces common with acne and rosacea. It’s very comfortable on the skin – lightweight, flexible and moist without shininess and even on the very oily or menopausal, it shouldn’t oxidise and change colour. I think that this is a perfect foundation for any woman who thinks she hates foundation, or who has neither the time nor inclination for painstaking application, nor the lifestyle for clunky, breakable packaging. It won me over, and all without a whisper of self promotion. Delilah’s Time Frame is the silent assassin of foundations, and it has definitely become my go to. I'm also trying out several of Delilah's other products and will review shortly. I'd love to know if you are a fan and which of their products you love. Emma x
