Review: Pink and Green Organic Skincare

One of the many bits I love about my job is that I get to try lots of fabulous skincare and makeup products.  Today I'm reviewing 2 products from a company called Pink and Green Skincare. if you haven't come across them before: the brand prides itself on its high quality natural skincare products. The company's name has a interesting meaning as pink was chosen to represent women and green to represent the environmentally friendly side of the brand. All the products use only natural ingredients, are 100% vegan and are hand made in small batches.

Fragranced One Balm

Cleansing balms have taken the skin care world by storm over the last couple of years. What started with a few, became many, and now there are so many on offer its quite tricky to find ‘the one’ for you.  And I love to change up what I'm using so its good to see what else is out there.

For those new to cleansing balms, they are an oil-based cleanser that remains solid at room temperature. Warmed in the hands and massaged onto the skin, then removed with a warm, damp cloth (muslin or flannel, I personally prefer a muslin) They cleanse beautifully, removing all traces of makeup while leaving the skin feeling exceptionally smooth, plump and hydrated. They are marketed for all skin types (yes, even oily) and especially good for those looking towards anti-ageing products.

Having used a balm cleanser for over a year, it’s fair to say I’m am completely converted to this way of cleansing. Up until this point I've been using Evolve Beauty's Gentle Cleansing Melt and Monu Cleansing Balm  - these are my 2 favourites that I keep coming back to.  I’ve never used anything else that makes my skin feel cleaner or more comfortable, and I would thoroughly recommend trying one out if you haven’t before. I wouldn’t say they are ‘life changing’  -after all it is just a cleaner, but they are certainly ‘skin changing’!

The One Balm is fragranced with lavender, geranium and frankincense.   I would say that the scent is quite strong - so if you aren't a fan of heavily scented products I would urge your to try their unscented version.  The texture is quite thick and a little goes a long way - you don't need to use a whole pump, I find about 1/2 a pump is sufficient.   When using I found that the product feels quite greasy on my skin, but it removes all of my makeup and my skin absolutely loves it.  after using the muslin to remove the product my skin no longer felt greasy and my skin just glows - so this product is a winner in my book.

Organic ‘Age Well’ Intensive Facial Serum

I love the sound of this product.  The ingredients include: Olive Squalane which softens the skin, improves elasticity, reduces signs of aging and boosts cell regeneration; Rosehip Oil which is regenerating, rejuvenating and healing; Macadamia Oil which leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth; Essential Lavender Oil which promotes the growth of new cells, soothes and smoothes wrinkles and Essential Oil of Frankincense which is good for oily, ageing and mature skin (amongst many other things - its a bit of a superfood for your skin.

The Age Well Serum is super easy to use.  You just apply 3 drops morning and evening after cleansing and toning, ideally while skin is damp.  Gently massage into your face and follow with your preferred cleanser.

Serums are a great way to give your skin an extra boost.  Up until this point my 2 favourites were: Evolve's Hyaluronic Serum 200 and Arbonne's RE9 Advanced Intensive Renewal Serum. A successful serum needs to be light and easily absorbed.  Pink & Green's one seemed to tick both of those boxes, which was a good start.  However, rather unfortunately this wasn't the right serum for my skin type - I really wanted to love it as much as the One Balm - but it made my skin breakout - so I only used it for a couple of days.  I use serums all the time and don't breakout, so I'm just presuming something in this formulation didn't agree with me.

I will definitely be repurchasing the One Balm, however I won't be going back for more of the serum.

Have you tried any Pink & Green Skincare products?  If so what are you loves ?  Are there any other products you recommend that I try?

Emma x
