Zoeva Rose Gold Complete Eye Set: Review

My Friday Review of the Zoeva Rose Gold Complete Eye Set.
As a makeup artist I have a large amount of makeup brushes.  They are my tools and very important if I want to paint my clients faces well.  However I needed some new brushes, I'd heard good things about Zoeva so decided to invest.  My first impressions of the brushes that I bought was that they are well priced, well made and most importantly for me is that they are vegan - what more could you ask for.

The set I bought contained 12 full sized and versatile brushes for all your eye make-up needs, and also a well sized faux leather brown (complete with rose gold accents) pouch to neatly stash away all your brushes when not in use. It cost £65 which I totally get isn't an impulse buy but when you consider that each brush comes in at£5.42 each then I think it is worth the splurge. For me it is not only important that each brush performs well i.e makes application a little easier but is also gentle on the skin as well as washing up well after use. I can happily say that Zoeva brushes are all of the above and more - they don't splay nor shed even with continuous use.

A quick break down on all 12 brushes and what I personally use them for:

Picture
Zoeva 142 Concealer and Buffer Brush - A beautifully soft yet robust flat top brush that naturally fits into the eyes contours to blend out concealer or loose powder with ease. Think of this as a mini kabuki brush for the eyes.
Picture
Zoeva 224 Luxe Defined Crease Brush - This is (I think) my favourite Zoeva brush and I will be buying more of this one.   It is a super soft fluffy brush that makes light work of buffing out even the harshest of lines.  If you are a little heavy handed and accidentally over apply eyeshadow this is the brush you need, I find it helps to soften eye make-up without turning into a muddy mess. It is also really gentle so it won't damage the delicate skin over time.

Zoeva 226 Smudger Brush - A small, flat and thin brush that can be used to apply eyeshadow precisily such as for a cut crease look or for applying gel/liquid or powder eyeshadows to the lash lines. This is a pretty dense brush so it works well for smudging out harsh lines particularly on the lower eyelash line. If you are a fan of a smoky eye look then invest in this brush for your kit.

Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer Brush - A super soft eye shadow brush which smooths and defines your eye colour. The perfect tool for creating smooth transitions between eye shadows, This brush is perfect for pressed powder and loose pigment eye shadows.
Picture
Zoeva 228 Luxe Crease Brush - Very similar to the above 224 only this is larger in size.  This buffs and blends eyeshadow wonderfully.
Picture
Zoeva 230 Luxe Pencil Brush - A small tapered bullet shaped brush which is great for precision application and for applying eyeshadow to the lower lash line. Although soft this is not as soft as the other brushes within the collection and does have a tendency to pick up more product than needed.
Picture
Zoeva 231 Luxe Petit Crease Brush - This is similar to the 230 above only more tapered, not as dense and by far softer.
Picture
Zoeba 234 Luxe Smoky Shader - A medium sized, flat paddle brush that is soft yet picks up plenty of product. Best used to pack colour on to the eyelids or for base products.
Picture
Zoeva 237 Detail Shader Brush - A small, dense flat brush to work eyeshadow into small areas such as the inner corner and lower lash line.
Picture
Zoeva 315 Fine Liner Brush - A super fine yet equally soft, angled eyeliner brush which is perfect for creating precise eye liner looks; this works well with liquid and gel.  I love using this with gel.
Picture
Zoeva 317 Wing Liner Brush - A broad, angled eyeliner brush which has been specifically created to make light work of creating a winged eyeliner look. This is a fairly fine, dense and to a degree firm brush that may be a little harsh on the eye but this is my perfect shape for a brow brushes.
Picture
Zoeva 322 Brow Line Brush - A short, small and angled brush created for use with brow powder, as this is a duo fibre brush it helps to diffuse colour to prevent the brows from appearing to harsh or for lack of a better term "blocky". This brush makes it almost impossible to overdo your brows.

I think that this is a great all round eye kit if you are just getting into make-up brushes or perhaps want to expand your collection. `If you purchased this I wouldn't imagine you'd ever need any more eye brushes for a good few years!
