Salads make up a pretty regular part of any healthy diet plan, and salad dressings are a great way to make the salad taste better, but be wary of shop bought dressings as pretty much everything you find on the shop shelves will be a no-go if you like to eat clean because food manufacturers can’t help but put additives and preservatives that aren’t really needed into them. Here’s an assortment of dressings that keep it simple and healthier for you
Tahini Ginger Dressing
Creamy sesame tahini blends with enzyme and nutrient-rich raw honey and just enough ginger to add a little boost of flavor and warmth without being too overpowering. Add just enough water to reach that perfect dressing consistency and that’s all there is to it! This dressing is so quick and delicious and great for those who like to keep it simple. Add a splash of lemon if you want a little extra citrusy tang. You’ll be tempted to eat it right out of your mixing bowl. Enjoy!

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons organic raw tahini
  • 1/2 - 1 tablespoon organic raw honey
  • 1/8 teaspoon organic ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons purified/filtered water
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients to a small bowl and stir until well combined.
  2. Adjust sweetener to your preference and water if you prefer a thinner consistency.

Tamarind Lime Dressing
Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp. tamarind paste
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 1/2 tbsp. lime juice
  • 1 tbsp. coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp. coconut oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
  1. To make the tamarind dressing I suggest that you throw all of the ingredients into a small mason jar and shake! Simple. *Note - sometimes you can only find a block of tamarind. To prepare this, you must break the block apart and soak it in water for 20 min. Once it is soft, get your hands in there and mix away. You will notice that there are shells - after it is well mixed, simply pass the paste through a strainer and store.

Creamy Avocado and Coriander Lime Detox Dressing

Everyone needs a good creamy salad dressing in their back pocket! A salad is just so much more satisfying when it’s loaded with healthy fats that protect your brain, give you glowing skin and balance your hormones.

Looking for something simple with just a few key ingredients? Voila, may I present to you the Avocado and Coriander Lime Detox Dressing.

Ingredients
  • 1-2 avocados
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • cracked black pepper to taste
  • Himalayan or sea salt to taste
  • small handful or 1/2 cup of fresh coriander
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions
  1. Pit your avocado and mash in a bowl with your other ingredients. Or, blend or whip in a food processor until smooth. Mix into a large bowl of kale salad or salad of choice.

What are your favourite salad dressings ?
